Google Blogger | For POD

Google The Blogspot

With Google killing off a lot of its older services the latest victim being Google+ folks are starting to wonder if Blogger will fall under the axe.

As reported on digitalinformationworld.com this is not going to happen. With Googles youtube and its Android platforms hosting their blogs from the platform it looks as stable as it can be.

Of course, things can and do change so all things being equal if you're vested in your blog always have a backup plan.

This is still a pretty good platform though old and a no-frills platform.

Easy, fast with perfect uptime, it will do the job.

Why Choose Blogger

I came back to blogger after many years of absence because it served my purpose. I was looking to write articles aimed at people getting into print on demand, and giving back some free knowledge.

I had a few blogs way back, the last being a digital resale site that didn't go anywhere but was super easy to build and manage. That was early I think 2003.

I remembered how the simplicity and ease of use had attracted me and thousands of others then.

Easy and fast great for mobile and super simple to set up secure and Free.

Possibility To Monetize

There is also the possibility to monetize with Adsense and other third-party affiliate solutions if you choose to do so.
Though that is not the purpose of my blog this go round, there is still that option which is really fair.

And honestly it must work for Google and its advertisers or It would be gone already.

It's fast and lightweight, where I found Wordpress to be quite clunky and slow loading, I think that could be server issues as well though.

I don't worry about security as long as Google is running it, with their own services here, you know it is all good.

Zero Learning Curve

There is literally no learning curve, so if you are new to any of this, there is really no easier way.

Just pick your theme and start creating and posting. There are a few things that could be better but hey, at least there are workarounds, and if you know how you fiddle with the code to a point.

The platform has been around a long time starting in 1999. So there are a ton of content sites showing you what to do if you need to add or do anything a little off curve.
Used in conjunction with social media sites and a bit of SEO, you can build a pretty good following for your content.

Is Blogging Dead?

No, I doubt that, though I use youtube a lot, I also like to read content, and I know a lot of people that do.

It's hard to watch a 30-minute video just for a bit of info, than it is to skim an article for perhaps better quality info, for myself this is true anyway. As long as it's not ad crazy.

The way I see things is, it's better to get into something, as it becomes less popular, it's like low hanging fruit.

With so many new worldwide users and so many leaving blogging behind, it's perhaps the perfect time for bloggers?

You Can Get A Domain Name

Yes, that's right you can buy a DN form Google or anywhere and point that at Blogger.

Now that's a pretty good deal. It's pretty expensive if you buy it through the platform, but you can buy it elsewhere.

I see that as a huge value. I can't say how it works, because I have not done that, but it seems pretty straight forward.

Who knows maybe I will decide to do just that one day, I always enjoyed blogging, and because I'm not depending on it, as an income, its fun again.

Get Found

If it's your plan to build it up, find different strategies to promote and build your traffic.

That can be done through proper Key Word research and promotion on your social media sites.

Organic traffic will build no matter what you do if you write and KW your articles properly, so again if that's your aim, research a little on how to do that.

And by all means, register with Google Search and Bing Webmaster Tools to get your sites listed in these search engines, it's super easy and takes very little time to do so.

Then you will start to show up in search, organically, but that's where some SEO knowledge comes in, don't be afraid, for most of us simple easy knowledge goes a long way ;)

Hopefully, you can see the useful and basically free way in which Blogger can be a useful tool and resource and I have helped a bit n your understanding of how to use it.

This is by no means a GURU article just a simple look by a simple man at how and why I personally use Blogger.

Leverage whatever you can to build your online business, whether it's through a free or paid service, this is one heck of a great free place to start that journey or continue it.

All the very best
