Teespring POD
There are quite a few POD platforms out there, we are focusing on the older more established ones, so far anyway, except MBA which is a different animal being that its Amazon.
In the series have touched on Redbubble, MBA, and Printful.
There are so many now it would take a huge article to list them all.
In this article, we will look another of the older more established platforms. Not that anything new isn't as good, I just don't know every one of them personally.
Ok here we go:
Teespring
This is a cool POD that has a good setup. Easy to navigate and very easy to use upload or design on site and push to your store.
Yes, you have a store. It's pretty cool, you, as usual, get a commission on the design, you set that up when designing. or Uploading your design.
Price is set to a point, on what you want per design, product, starting I'm guessing at an SRP (suggested retail price) form which you can adjust up or down (up isn't really suggested.)
Good Product Choices
They have the usual suspects as far as products
- Leggings
- T-shirts
- Hoodies
- Tote Bags
- Socks
- Mugs
And a few other cool things to design on like posters and fleece blankets.
Set Up Stores
The beauty is you can set up a few stores, this allows you to not only niche but to cross-sell.
If you're not sure what I'm saying...
Everything is geared toward niches, that allow you to get the most likely shopper who will buy.
Example: You sell dog t-shirts etc.
Your store is about targetting dog owners who like to wear shirts about dogs.
Your store will be that.
You can replicate that through and do that with Mugs, then Totes, Etc. Get that so you are targetting people who may want a mug, blanket, tote or what have you that will fit, each is a different store.
That's super nicheing I think hitting on all cylinders.
And as far as I know, you can do that with as many niches as you like.
Design Your Store
You have some capability to set up an ok looking store, with the use of a predefined template you can upload your own header or use a supplied one.
The look and feel are pretty much predetermined.
Your own header logo will also be extended to your brand or the brand you hope to build.
Each store you set up can lead back to your brand or you can develop several, it's up to you and your plan.
Where Do They Sell
That's a bonus, that only a few POD`s use. Selling In the EU and USA or North America.
There VAT is already included.
You will see these POD`s advertise around the net, a lot on facebook if you haven't noticed already.
Don't get all excited if you see your shirt there, that's simply all the data they steal from you (FB etc) to serve you ads, that they think will make them money.
Can I Set My Own PPC
Yes, you can run PPC campaigns on your own goods. This can be done on all POD`s, but make sure the spend on ads, is much less than the profit from sales right!
Like anything else, the product should sell if its good, but there will be testing to do, so go carefully.
This is also a pretty good way to get cross sales.
As usual, make sure you are using good keywords. Google Bing etc. Not too sure about FB or Pinterest unless you really get it, you could lose a bit there.
There is also a yep it's cool, youtube integration so you can leverage that as well.
Promos
Yes, you can run promotional offers, but it comes off your end right.
This can be a good way to get traffic moving to your store, helping your overall SEO as well.
You can offer promo`s anywhere and don't necessarily need to run ad spends for that.
There will be a promo code assigned, attach that to your own store so you know the traffic is coming to you.
A Couple Of Benefits
Payouts :
- Paypal
- Payoneer
And discounts after you sell a certain amount, they seem small, but imagine if you're selling thousands of units, that really adds up.
Not all POD`s offer much in that way. Same as payouts some offer only PP or bank stuff, I usually choose either of the above.
By the way, Payoneer is like having a US-based bank account, should that info be pertinent.
There is also a pretty good FX out there that is real cool called OFX. This is the same as having bank accounts in the US.
Just saying ;)
We have touched the surface of Teespring POD here, there is as always a lot more to this than I have discussed here.
These articles are just a small guide or maybe an eye opener as to a new unknown POD.
There are hundreds of them, but as I mentioned earlier I don't know them all or have experience with the I should say.
Hopefully, this has helped you a bit or given you another avenue you didn't know of, as always use all the resources you can, without stretching yourself to thin.
Leave comments or questions below and I will answer as I can.
