Tshirt Design | All About That Thumbnail

Image
Thumbnails | Size Really Does Matter If your like me and not a great designer, but have a little knowledge in the subject, this can be a point of brain freeze. Too big, too small crap. There are some that say size matters, personally, I think its like art, in the eye of the beholder. That being said there are a number of reasons and arguments out there for both. Let's get into a few things on design size. Text Designs | Big  This is sort of the theory I stick with, though I do mix stuff up a bit.  In a sea of online shirts, you want yours to be seen, and you have just that one thumbnail to show it. I don't personally like that big huge text, but I admit it goes with a fun design. If you take a saying or meme, you want it to look fun, meaning a big clunky text or big block letters, like that,  In my Opinion anyway. If it's funny it should look funny so BIG is good. Thumbnails You only get so much ter...

Buying Out Tiers | Merch By Amazon

Image
Buying Out Tier 10 and 25 On Merch By Amazon This is probably the fastest ways out of the dreaded first couple of tiers. The cost of this will be the minimum price you set per shirt, plus delivery. This can work and takes a bit of the initial work out of moving up and freeing up slots. There are a couple of ways to do this, but if you live outside the USA it, and not in a country they will deliver shirts to, that gets a bit harder. It can work, and in a positive way, but it isn't the be all and end all solution. You really need to learn the business and what works for you and what doesn't, you might not always understand it, I don't think anyone does, but it does help to sort of build general understanding. (Amazons algorithm has most people baffled anyway) So here let's look at a couple of things to maybe help you decide. To Buy Or Not Buy-Out Here I have a couple of views right or wrong.          ...

Merch By Amazon | Tiering Up Tips

Image
Tiering Up Tips | Merch By Amazon One of the biggest challenges in MBA is the system of tiering your account up. Tiering is basically hao many live designs you can have at one time on the platform (Amazon) It's frustrating, mind-bending and at times so depressing you feel like just stopping and throwing the towel in. I decided to write this part because I remember how bad and how I felt it really was trying (and still trying) to get there. In this article, we will discuss a few tips and tricks that will help you navigate your way to higher tiers in Merch By Amazon (MBA) Some History          When I stared in 2017 it took me close to 8 months to get approved for my MBA account, then I threw up some designs (really bad ones) without thought and without checking for TM`s, I got very lucky with the trademark stuff, I knew enough to stay away from brand stuff like coke or Disney but did no...

Slow Sales Merch By Amazon | T Shirts Not Selling

Image
Slow Sales Tees Are Not Selling | MBA This happens for everybody, no matter what you're into to. For retail its a fact of life. Most sales (not the rule by any means) happen during the 4th quarter. This is the period from October to December. In between all of the madness of the 4th quarter, you need to have a different strategy. But when you are new and nothing is selling it can get super frustrating. So we will look at a few things you can try. We will discuss POD strategy here, Organically, since we are still dealing with POD in the articles for now. Design This does help, when I say design I mean, what does that sucker look like on the thumbnails Amazon shows your shirt on. That's right, how many times have you stopped to look at a thumbnail ( not like your fingernails) because it caught your eye. The trick here is to make things: Big ( you don't see negative comments because the design was to big r...

Merch By Amazon | A Very Cool Community

Image
The Merch By Amazon Community I know I go on about being careful, about guru`s and scammers, actually a lot :). But don't throw a blanket on all of the groups and people involved in the MBA community, there is a lot of the earlier groups,  (MBA isn't that old anyway) are really awesome and helpful. I am not endorsing or promoting anyone or any groups, there are a few I know I will miss anyway, just pointing out a lot of good resource and content. These are not typical if at all, gurus. FaceBook Groups                                   These are amazing for content and learning, most of the groups I know and am involved with, give as much free advice and information as they sell paid info. Most of the groups are youngish, compared to this old guy anyway, and have a really wonderful mindset, I myself am really taken with their friend...
