Organic Traffic Dead | Merch By Amazon
Is Organic Dead On MBA
It's really interesting how people are jumping from one reason to another that sales are becoming harder to get on Merch By Amazon these days.
Sales are definitely hard to come by, they always have been for me anyway.
Are there more people in it, yes Amazon threw the gates open in the past year and a half.
Is quality better? Not really in most cases, it's just a matter of the right eyes seeing the design.
Is organic dead?
Let's take a look at the statement.
Why Is Organic Traffic Dead?
I decided to write on this matter because today browsing one of the FB groups that used to be top notch, I came across a statement from a guy I used to a lot of respect for, up until I read the post.
The post generally said "well good luck getting your shirt seen organically, (On MBA) I have the tried and true way to make AMS ads make sales, so pay me and I will share my knowledge.
If it's so great and working and making tons of money, why would a BS complainer that the marketplace is shot, give this "secret" away for any price?
This comes from a no-nonsense guy that USED to say things like they were.
Until he started to believe his own group's hype.
Truth is its slow, money isn't as good or easy as it was. So they want to sell you on this idea.
Organic is not dead by a long shot, PPC may be on a rebound, it was the way, back in time too, and that changed, things will always change.
Do NOT stop with good Keywords and Phrases.

So What Do You Do To Sell Tees
Heres the total secret to that plan.
They buy and give 3-5 star reviews to each other's shirts. This gives you a leg up in the Amazon Algorithm.
Once you have ratings, you throw it into ads and it does better, and shows higher, because of the, uhum, fake reviews.
So get into a group and do the same thing, don't pay them, so they can use that money to build other businesses and sell you the useless things they dream up, to make easy money.
I don't actually condone this, work on the design, niche and keywords, descriptions it all helps, as well as running PPC, or AMS (Amazon Ads) on a strict budget.

But The Gurus Said So
As humans we always want to do better, some people can get there on their own, some of us have to work harder or need some help to get there
There is no shame or harm in buying things that actually help, designs, research or anything you may need.
BUT, when people go off like that its pure greed, it's wrong, it's misleading and it is NOT the MBA community that once was.
It is better to follow your instincts and trust in yourself. Personally, I will now leave all those groups and their self-appointed gurus, its a real waste of time anyway, and I can see things spiralling down to where the fighting will take centre stage, fighting over who can take your money that is.
The normalcy and good vibe of MBA is disappearing into the abyss.
Take Your Own Route
Personally, I stopped watching all the youtube stuff, maybe 3 months ago now, as it all seemed to be pointed to selling you crap or supporting a youtube career dream.
It really was a time suck and really nothing useful came of it from around that time. ( Before that the stuff was actually good and worth watching)
Another thing that is killing MBA is the insane amount of Trademarking words and phrases, unsure how many GURUS are doing this secretly, but that thought has now been put out there publicly by a poster in one of the groups.
My advice, do your own thing, I still sell shirts, not a lot but they sell, I doubt I will ever kill it, but I don't give up easily, so who knows.
Leave the noise behind and go forward, quietly, taking your time and not getting bent because people post photo-shopped numbers ;) do your own thing, you will prosper.

A Word On KeyWords
A while ago one of the guys we thought were ok said, for your brand look professional don`t use keyword structure, use like Thanksgiving Tee Co or such. Or even something unrelated, like Fish Face Tee Co.
Pure BS, not one of those shirts I did that too, and I did edit a ton, has sold.
So I went back to using the brand box as a title as well like Funny St Patricks Day Drinking Tshirt, and have sold a few like that.
Just saying sometimes you need to follow your own thoughts and see what happens, could be other folks would mislead to narrow competition.
The True Copy Cats
Dig deeper and you will see that these self-made gurus are actually the biggest copy cats in MBA.
They are the folks who say look at the listings and make that shirt better.
Why, can't you think of your own? You are the professional right?
I look at designs that catch my eye fonts colours setups and try to learn WHY it caught my eye, not to copy. And I never copy bullets and such, I wonder how many of those guys can say that.
If you manage to find a good group, keep it to yourselves and do your thing.
And remember, Google,Bing Yahoo etc still pick up on your Keywords whether you're on the Amazon platform or the Etsy platform, Redbubble or anywhere you add your designs and tags.
Figure out what works and go to it, my wife just found a wonderful niche to do with family origins and has started to outpace me easily with sales, she actually did a little KY and niche related research and its paying off, three weeks in.
Don't jump at the shiny objects, stay your course, you have time and you will get back, I'm not sure what the future of MBA is, but you won't find it in some GURUS BS.
Things in MBA change weekly, so in my humble opinion, just keep at it and who knows, it's still free and it is it is super passive, so hang in and please use your money sensibly.
All the best and BEST wishes on your journey forward.
